Langtang Valley Trek
Langtang Valley Trek
Trip Overview & Highlights
Trip Overview
The Langtang Valley Trek with Fly Trek Nepal takes you into one of the closest and most scenic Himalayan valleys to Kathmandu. After a drive to Syabrubesi, you follow the Langtang Khola river through oak and rhododendron forests, then climb into a wide, glacier-carved valley beneath Langtang Lirung (7,227 m). The route leads to Kyanjin Gompa (about 3,870 m), a high village surrounded by snow peaks, where you can hike up to viewpoints like Kyanjin Ri and Tserko Ri (about 4,984 m) for sweeping panoramas.
This trek is as much cultural as it is scenic. The valley is home to Tamang communities with Tibetan Buddhist traditions, and you pass mani walls, prayer flags, and small monasteries along the way. You can taste fresh yak cheese at Kyanjin, meet welcoming local families, and see how the villages have been rebuilt since the 2015 earthquake. With no flights, no restricted-area permits, and a gradual ascent, Langtang is a great choice for first-time Himalayan trekkers and anyone with limited time. Fly Trek Nepal’s local guides and porters take care of the route and logistics, so you can walk at a comfortable pace and enjoy the views.
